Sam Waltemyer is a pianist from south-central Pennsylvania, whose musical journey began with a genuine curiosity in the piano, inspired by his grandmother's passion for music. Initially self-taught by ear, he further developed his skills under the teaching of Reverend Robert Harris.
After high school, Sam briefly studied Elementary Education at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, where he continued exploring his love for music. Back in Pennsylvania, he spent several years sharing music with a number of local church congregations and occasionally traveled out of state to perform. With help from some friends, Sam organized The Gathering, a multi-day hymn-sing and live music recording event, hosted by three churches in Southern Pennsylvania in June 2023. The Gathering was released on CD in October of that year. In March 2025, inspired by the hope of growing his faith and deepening his relationship with Christ, Sam made sharing music and hope on the road his full-time endeavor. He has performed for hundreds of people throughout all fifty states. When not performing, Sam loves hiking and exploring, visiting public libraries, odd roadside attractions, and adding stamps to his National Parks Passport. |
